JLP CARES (Community Action and Revitalization Event) is one of the Junior League of Portland’s signature service initiatives—an opportunity for our entire membership to unite in hands-on community impact. Hosted one to two times per year, JLP CARES brings together hundreds of members across the Portland metro area for a single day of collective action, service, and connection.

On JLP CARES Day, every member has the chance to show up, roll up their sleeves, and make a tangible difference. From supporting local nonprofits to tackling high-impact volunteer projects, we partner with organizations that address some of our community’s most pressing needs. The result is a powerful demonstration of what happens when trained volunteers, committed leaders, and a shared mission come together.

JLP CARES is more than a day of service—it’s a visible expression of who we are.
It energizes our membership, strengthens our partnerships, and amplifies the Junior League of Portland’s long-standing commitment to improving the community through thoughtful action.

Together, in a single coordinated effort, we create ripples of change across the region—one project, one partner, and one member at a time.
