For the eleventh year, the Junior League of Portland is holding an annual Essentials Drive (formerly known as Delicates Drive), collecting undergarments, toiletries, and other supplies for survivors of human trafficking.

The Junior League of Portland encourages you to join us in supporting survivors of human trafficking through our Essentials Drive. Over the next few months, we are working towards a goal of collecting at least 5,000 new toiletries and undergarments of any kind (bras, underwear, boxers, camisoles, tank tops, socks), any size, and for any gender.

The Essentials Drive, held from January 2023- February 2023, focuses on undergarments because individuals fleeing trafficking environments are often asked to surrender these items as evidence. Once safe they may not have the resources to purchase new items or additional essentials, like toiletries. The Junior League of Portland will distribute donations to a selection of partner organizations that provide immediate and long-term care, such as Rose Haven and New Avenues for Youth.

In response to the changing environment and challenges of COVID-19 we are making digital donations as easy as we can. For your convenience, wish lists with suggested garments or items for purchase are available through the following links and are shipped directly to the Junior League:

AMAZON

TARGET

Our preference is in-kind donations via our wishlists, however, money can be donated directly to our General Fund and earmarked for the “Essentials Drive” in the “Comments” section on the second page of the donation transaction.

For any additional questions or inquiries please reach out to StopHumanTrafficking@jlpdx.org.

JLP Annual Appeal Exceeds Goal https://www.jlpdx.org/annual-appeal/ Fri, 04 Feb 2022 00:12:11 +0000 https://www.jlpdx.org/?p=4499 Read More]]>

The Junior League of Portland recently completed our Annual Appeal Campaign, which ran from October-December 2021, with a goal of raising $15,000. One of the pillars of the Junior League is developing members, and after a few years on lock down, we saw an opportunity to revamp our fundraising trainings for our membership. Utilizing the appeal as both a fundraiser and a training, we were able to engage and empower our members, ultimately surpassing our goal and raising $20,000!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our appeal. These funds are unrestricted which means they can be used towards our greatest needs, including items such as: creating new programs, helping with grants for our partners, and ensuring smooth league operations. We would not be able to continue to do the important work we have been doing in this community for over 100 years without our donors!

Women & Money: Build Community, Build Wealth
Tickets now live! Purchase here

The Junior League of Portland is excited to announce the fifth annual Rose City Summit on Friday, April 29, 2022. This year’s event will be virtual for all attendees!

Women have more money than ever before, but how do we use it to build the lives and communities we want? For our annual Rose City Summit, join us for an impactful day of conversations around empowering your money.

We’ll explore the importance of money mindsets, financial confidence, and the societal influences that affect our wallets. We’ll also look at the link between building wealth and building community, and how we can all use our financial resources to reflect our values.

We are proud to welcome two Keynote Speakers, Tonya Rapley and Tori Dunlap. Tonya Rapley is a money expert and founder of My Fab Finance. As an entrepreneur and international speaker, Tonya helps women become financially free and do more of what they love. Tori Dunlap is a leading money expert, fierce financial feminist and founder of @herfirst$100K. She is focused on all things woman and money and will share her perspective on financial independence in the 21st century.
