JLP CAREs 2014

JLP CAREs 2014

The Junior League of Portland’s 5th annual JLP CAREs was held on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

In addition to the volunteer-a-thon during the day, JLP hosted a fun and festive evening event for volunteers and guest – the Harvest Soirée and Silent Action at The Jupiter Hotel.

Our 2014 goal was to activate over 120 volunteers to participate in JLP CAREs volunteer-a-thon and raise $25,000 for the League and its programs.

We are delighted to announce that we greatly exceeded our goal raising over $40,000 which will go directly toward advancing the charitable mission of JLP.

Thank you to our volunteers and generous donors for making this possible!

Following are the eight community organizations JLP members volunteered to support this year. League members made a difference by gardening and landscaping, painting, cooking and making freezer meals, assembling reading and educational kits, painting, cleaning and more at each of these non-profit community organizations. These projects positively impacted the lives of 7,500 children and families in the Portland metro area.

Today 47% of patients admitted into CODA programs are women, 40-80% (varies by program) of whom are actively partnering or working to reunite with their children. In each case, family needs are an integral component of treatment planning and may include family therapy and/or referral for child-specific services to address children’s unique needs.
