JLP Cares

2019 Recap

The Junior League of Portland held our tenth annual Community Action and Revitalization Event aka JLP CAREs, on Saturday, October 26, 2019. This year’s event activated more than 115 volunteers who put in a cumulative 300 hours of volunteer service. Sites this year included our official partners, such as Children’s Book Bank and Rose Haven, and organizations new to the League, like the Red Cross. Through our blood drive we were able to collect 20 pints of blood, which will help save 60 lives.

This event is not only an annual volunteer activation event, it is also a fundraiser for the General Fund. The money raised goes back to the League’s regular volunteer events and programming, including providing groceries to make meals at the Ronald McDonald House and civic leadership and advocacy training throughout the year.

Thank you to our volunteers and generous donors for making this possible!
