COVID-19 Update

April 9, 2020

The COVID-19/novel coronavirus pandemic continues to threaten our world. As civic leaders, it is important for Junior League of Portland to remain vigilant and do our part to minimize the spread and effect of the disease and protect our members.

As of April 9, Junior League of Portland is taking the following actions:

  • Suspending all in-person meetings, activities, and events, including recruitment events and the 2020 Rose City Women’s Summit, through June 30, 2020
  • Suspending all direct-service activities through June 30
  • Encouraging members to leverage technology to conduct ALL meetings and events via telecom/virtual channels

We understand that the ever-changing situation is unsettling; however, please keep in mind that the absolute best thing that we can do is keep ourselves healthy and well. We can do this by increasing proper hand-washing and personal hygiene, staying home and resting if we or any of our family members are unwell or experience symptoms of COVID-19, practicing social/physical distancing, and staying up-to-date with and closely following directives made by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Furthermore, on March 23, 2020 Oregon Governor Kate Brown issued Executive Order 20-12 which impacts local businesses, parks, and continues to encourage social distancing.
